MOVING ON, 2022

In creating this series, I wanted to preserve the essence of "home" as it once was, highlighting the details that made it unique to me. Every scene, object, and color choice reflects an intentional desire to document these spaces with honesty, honoring both the joy and melancholy of departure. The series is a way of remembering the small, often overlooked moments and textures of daily life that left a lasting impact—echoes of laughter, quiet routines, and a sense of belonging that is now held in memory.

This series captures the final moments I spent in my childhood home and the neighborhood where I grew up. Featuring significant landmarks like my elementary school, family temple, and the house that held so many formative memories, these works pay homage to the places and experiences that shaped my early life. As I prepared to leave, I felt the complex mix of emotions that accompanies moving forward—both sadness at letting go of the familiar and an appreciation for the memories that remain vivid and deeply ingrained.

Through these works, I invite viewers to reflect on the significance of their own familiar spaces and the emotions tied to the act of leaving them behind. This series is not only a farewell to the past but also a tribute to the enduring influence of "home" on who we become, even as we move forward and adapt to new surroundings. It’s an exploration of how we carry these places within us, shaping our understanding of belonging, identity, and the inevitable beauty of change.
