The scars we carry, emotional or physical, serve not only as reminders of what we have been through but also as markers of resilience. Memory, pain, and growth work together in an immersive environment with feelings of emotion, fear, and uncertainty. I explore how the process of growing up is inseparable from struggle, and how the past lingers in the present.
Revealing itself in moments of failure, fear begins when the familiar falls apart. On the surface, textures and materials react unpredictably, echoing the instability of memory itself. Using salt, the work continues to shift and decay over time, inviting viewers to witness that transformation in real time. By touching the pieces and seeing the salt fall off the canvas, viewers are drawn deeper into the pull of memory, an experience that is both tactile and intimate. These moments of uncertainty mirror the instability of memory itself. Without surrender, there is no transformation, without friction, no evolution.
Each painting is created through cycles of destruction and rebuilding, mirroring the body’s relationship to pain and the mind’s fight with memory. Texture becomes a metaphor for resiliency: layered, scarred, and reformed. The surface appears decayed or unsettled, creating instability of memory as it shifts and reshapes over time. Color sways between tenderness and sharpness, a delicate balance between breaking and healing. My paintings hold space to invite the viewer into an environment where memory is alive and where transformation is born. The work is immersive, enveloping viewers in the intensity of what it means to live with fear of growing up.  Growth cannot exist without failure; without it we stand still.
